Why Google Drive access is requested
The operator authorizes the installed desktop application through Google's OAuth consent screen. It requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive scope to update an existing file previously uploaded manually and read its metadata for verification.
This scope permits broad Drive access. The current program is configured to read metadata for and update only its designated CSV; the permission itself is not technically restricted to that one file. The current version does not implement a Google Picker flow for narrower file selection.

A local tool with a public information website
The uploader runs on the operator's Mac mini. This website explains the tool; it does not offer sign-in, accept uploads, or receive OAuth tokens or CSV content. The tool is for the operator's personal workflow, not public account registration. Despite its name, it does not record audio or request microphone access.
